Looking to outmaneuver, outperform, and dominate the Republic, the Black Fleet decides to field a new type of fighter in their bid to take over the galaxy.
Small and wicked looking, the tri-fighter was the Black Fleet’s answer to the fighter starcraft being fielded by the republic. A fast and agile craft, the tri-fighter sported three large deflector panels over a central cockpit for the pilot. The angled panels swept forward of the ship’s body, looking like triangular knives ready to stab into the heart of the Black Fleet’s enemies.
Sporting an array of weaponry, the nimble tri-fighter is a serious threat against less maneuverable ships. While the standard gun package on the ship is a pair of belly mounted blaster cannons and two small space intercept missiles, the battle at Tarago saw a more gruesome weapon straight out of a past mankind hoped to forget. Eschewing the missiles for more ammunition, the tri-fighter during the black fleet invasion was equipped with 30mm slug throwing cannons. Using depleted uranium rounds to increase the punch, the cannons—dubbed a weapon of mass destruction by the House of Reason—tore through ship and space station armor like it was tissue paper.
Even with all its speed and weaponry, the tri-fighters most incredible innovation was its augmented reality interface. With it, the pilot could see everything going on around the ship, while still oriented for flight control. It boasted a steeper learning curve than the standard interface, but the pilots that adapted saw heavy kills against the Repub fighters. Combining the interface with the tri-panels acting as impulse directional thrusters allowed the ship to outmaneuver the Repub’s turn-and-burn style fighters for the kill.
During the galactic assault, the Black Fleet used the tri-fighters and their variants to great effect. Directing troops on the ground, the scout model running an active cloak could lead Shock Troopers to their targets and act as over watch. The bomber variant carrying two STG deep cluster bombs was, for those times, a strike package had to make it through extreme speed. Of course, there was the dog fighter variant with its depleted uranium slug cannons tearing into ship and space station armor like a jackhammer.

Most impressive and how many are on the Night Market?
God damn but does that ship look mean. I'd fly it in a heartbeat
