Space fleet battles make up a smaller portion of the Galaxy’s Edge universe, which typically centers on squad based military action. With such amazing characters slogging it out on the ground, it’s sometimes easy to overlook the stuff going on in orbit. The black fleet engagements in Season 1 and battles with the "ghost" fleets in Season 2 had some remarkable battle space technology..
Among these, the Aegis system stands out as battle space voodoo wizardry locked in to protect Repub fleets in battle against other ships. The system is an integrated space warfare analyzer, that creates a sensor web over the fleet to defend against incoming fire. When the fleet goes to battle conditions, the Aegis activates to link all ships in the fleet on a unified sensor array updated in real time.
Battle tracking and analysis speed to every connected ship, and creates a predictive blanket over the fleet. In keeping with the blanket analogy, if you tug on one corner, a different part of the blanket moves with it. The Aegis works in much the same way.
Missiles and incoming fighters detected on one side of the fleet are relayed to the others and linked into point defense systems. An enemy fighter could avoid being hit by the PDCs on one ship, but then face a barrage of blaster batteries from the others as it passed by.
Against a linked battle networked fleet, clever hit and fade tactics won’t do much. But, in the book, Retribution, the Empire’s, Captain Vampa sees her Zhee controlled battle group switch off the Aegis in favor of more aggressive actions aimed at a nearby planet.
Against ten state-of-the-art Aegis-linked battle cruisers, a single torpedo wasn’t going to do mu—
Except they aren’t Aegis-linked at the moment, Vampa thought. A chill shot through her extremities and her heart began to skip. The stupid admiral had ordered the fleet to bombardment. Meaning they’d switched off Aegis in order to target individual tangos on the world below.

This one is another home-run! These technical readouts are awesome! Adds tons of flavor and character to the GE universe and further cements that lived in feel!
