Legion Priority Target

The galaxy at large knows the legion for their Spartan-like tactics to punish or pulverize any obstacles in their path. The widely publicized exploits on non-classified operations involving leej units battering the enemies of the Republic have been the stuff of many an entertainment vid or holo play.

What isn’t blasted into the public imagination like a legion recruiting video is the exploits of Dark Operations and their clandestine missions. 

After the defeat of Goth Sullus, while the legion were on counter-insurgency operations to eliminate the remnants of the House of Reason Loyalists, a Kill Team under the direction of their Team Sergeant, Bombassa, had been ordered to surveil and hit outstanding safe houses for enemy Nether Ops teams.

The Nether Ops crews had developed an ingenious plan for their safe houses to guard critical data and operations plans for resurgent House of Reason forces. The archive would remain at a critical, secure location for a period with Nether Ops kill teams guarding it. After a certain amount of time, the Nether agents would execute a tight beamed data burst, moving all of their closely guarded secrets off site, to a relay node where it would then be downloaded to another safe house, and a new crew to guard it.

On more than one occasion, the legion kill teams had found the location of the safe house, but could not stop the data transfer before they could take control of the objective.

With Bombassa’s team on target, the kill team needed to gain entry to an underground bunker. The entrance had been disguised as a farmhouse overlooking several farms of shep, the local herd animal on the planet. While a direct assault on the compound could be done by dusting the guards and using a plasma torch or breacher bot to break in, they wouldn’t gain entry in time before an agent triggered an emergency data dump and offloaded the contents of the servers. 

Bombassa decided to go a different way than the legion’s usual, and often highly televised methods. Instead, he had members of the team sneak into the shep fields and scare them. The frightened animals disrupted the easily recognizable migration of the herd, causing the guards to come from the shack to investigate. Another quick scare and the lone remaining guard opens the secure vault door, attempting to escape into the entry tunnel and the safety of the bunker.
