When you look at the gorgeous cover for Kill Team, there is so much to look at you almost get lost trying to find all the details. One that is often overlooked is the guy applying some dead-side duct tape to the blast door.
Military style breaching is about applying the correct amount of explosive force to a barrier to promote a hostile entry. In the situation on the ship, our friends on Kill Team Victory were doing everything they could to crack the hatch to the bridge. You can be there was a lot at stake and many people were going to die if they didn’t cross the threshold.
But the passage they’re in is an enclosed space, seeing as they’re on an ill-gotten Republic ship, so there are more than a few problems that could arise. In a space that tight, our leejes are worried about a few things. Too much explosives and the over pressure might rebound off the door and trounce them, even at the end of the passage (remember, that corridor is a giant two way funnel).
There is also the little fact that something like detonation bricks going off in a space that tight—Chuun comments that all that force has to go somewhere—could breach the hull instead of the reinforced doors. Leejes aren’t much good in a room breach when they’re floating helplessly in space outside the room.
So the trick they use in this case is Detonation Propulsion Cord. When set off, the cord acts like a strip of rocket boosters, applying incredible force against the door. Does the hatch have gears and locks? No problem. The specialized legion Booster Tape will increase in force until everything breaks and the door is rocket propelled into the housing.

Two guns are pointed at the back of the breacher's head. Luckily the guy across the hall is pointing his gun at the to offenders! At least trigger fingers are off the trigger. BTDT
These are really cool. There's way more to the covers than I originally noticed. Especially since most books just have "Genreice Sci-Fi Man 14" on them.
