Never miss an opportunity to lie to your enemy...
Hunter Team Ranger setting down on Candalon V to engage enemy bounty hunters was a textbook expression of the old legion saying.
While deployed to the planet, the leejes of the Hunter Team executed a covert insertion to meet with the bounty hunter suspected of moving cargo for one of their targets. To avoid anyone trying to rabbit from seeing legion ships entering the airspace, the pilots used state-of-the art, hard light holography to make their ship appear as a “Fat Man.”
The bulbous freight haulers known as the Fat Man were seen up and down galaxy’s edge as one of the most notable, and cheapest selection of bulk freighters out there. With its bulbous cargo section and squat, tough landing gear, The Fat Man enjoyed widespread use throughout the sector. Looking like an ancient Earth air ship called a blimp, the Fat Man was regularly seen throughout the many ports just as often as it was ignored for being the most basic of transport haulers.
As the saying on galaxy’s edge went, “There was always work for the Fat Man.”
But as the main strike force for the hunter team entered the fray, they deployed electronic counter measures and active jamming to isolate and cut off the bounty hunter ship. And with said isolation, the legionnaires cut their hard light cammo.
Instead of the bulk hauler common through the seedier space ports, the bounty hunters knew they’d stepped deep into trouble when they stared down the main blaster cannon of a chopped down stealth corvette. The hammerheaded ship was sleek and utilitarian, offering little room for anything that wasn’t needed to execute targets on behalf of the legion. With its main ion cannon shutting down any thoughts of the bounty hunters escaping in their own ride, the legionnaires went to work and seized their objective.
By using the holo-cammo, Hunter Team Ranger could hide the deadly stealth ship’s true nature and fly by unnoticed in a sea of other Fat Men.
