One of the most important principles on the battlefield is that movement is life. A moving target is hard to hit and a fast mover burning across the sky is almost impossible.
After implementing Article 19, the Legion goes through an intense revision under its new Legion Commander. Of prime importance at the time was the ability for unit leaders to go through their commands and look for areas of improvements. Seeing as the units had thrown off their appointed leadership and shiny armor, there was nowhere to go but up.
One significant improvement to the new legion combat armor had been to install a series of jump jets into the suit. Taking a note from Tyrus Rech’s playbook, the post Article 19 armor received the upgrade prior to the regimental assault during Season 2: Remains. With jets situated in the calf armor and linked to a pulse unit in the battle belt, the legionnaires test out the new advance when things go from bad to suck during an orbital insertion.
Utilizing the jump jets takes little training but heaps of practice. Once a leej locks in his proficiency, the upgrade becomes a serious force multiplier on the battlefield. Snipers, in a rush to attain high ground over their targets, can hit the jets for a rocket assisted leap to a hide. IMT, or individual movement tactics, takes on a whole new bang with the boosters. While one fire team covers, the movement element can hit the jets and rocket into place faster than their enemies can target. Add bangers or bot poppers ahead of the rush, and the jump jets not only shoot the leejes in place but also put them there before the bad guys can react to their attack.
