This book reminded me of many of the older pulp books I found as a kid at the used book store in Richmond, VA. High adventure, crazy plots, battles against insane odds. Heroes who, while flawed, still rose to challenges. Even the subplots were able to pull me in. Overall, this book had everything that makes for an enjoyable adventure.
