Not only do you have one of the coolest jobs in the world, you get to train and instruct some of the most elite warriors. Elite in their skills in combat and also in their character. One of the things I most remember learning from my drill instructors were character traits. I also thought integrity was one of the most important to me, or, as I remember it, “doing the right thing when no one is looking.” Thanks again for all that you do, Doc! Semper Fi!
Brilliant piece. Had to share with my Dad who gave me the shooting skills he learned at Bragg. He enjoyed your sentiments. 👍
Too kind! Best regards to your dad!

If only everyone taught character like the Corps does, what a better country we’d be. Thanks for the kind words!
I subscribed, partly, so I could comment, could answer the question you asked in the caption below the pictures.
On my phone, sometime over the last few days? Laying in my berth, bouncing along the highway...
somewhere...
as my partner drove us towards the next, in an endless line of an endless list of back and forth destinations,
laden down with, only the Good Lord, above knows what,
I thought there was some true question being asked, for, I could not see the pictures clearly.
Could not blow them up.
I have yet to read the article.
I wanted to complete your question first.
Now,
seeing the pictures,
it seems a rhetorical question.
Dancing and mirth, but, more to the point, a setup staged for the viewer, specifically, two photos.
One photo seems more a capturing of a moment.
A glimpse, simply, shared.
Based purely on this,
The answer seems painfully obvious.
Dancing and mirth can be so important, but, how much more powerful if they, to, were moments captured and revealed, rather than,
staged.
