Galaxy’s Edge has more than its share of predatory species. From the hyper violent Drusics, to the dangerous Hools, there is no shortage of beings in the GE universe for the various legionnaires to encounter.
In Galactic Outlaws, a chance encounter with the Bounty Hunter, Tyrus Rechs, leads to the introduction of a pilot who is an ace in the seat and a nightmare in the streets. Skrizz comes on scene as a cautious co-pilot who wants nothing to do with the humans he finds himself running with. The hulking Cat-man is talked into co-piloting the Obsidian Crowe, when it turns out Rechs can speak his language.
While they are prevalent throughout the more lawless parts of the galaxy, the Wobanki have never disclosed a homeworld to the rest of society. They prefer to live on three worlds within the Republic, where they keep away from non Wobanki settlements.
Resembling a cross between a man and a cat, these battle hardened aliens are one of the most predatory species in the Republic, while holding to a sense of personal honor that allows them to live beside most races rather well. Most of their clan structure revolves around rites of passage where the cubs must become successful hunters in their own right before taking up any other profession.
The Hullbusters have often praised working beside the cat-men as this philosophy mirrors one of their own. Every Repub Marine must be a rifleman first and foremost. The Wobanki way of life is the same. Whether they are warriors, pilots, or doctors, every Wobanki must learn to end one life before starting another.
The only race the cat men won’t abide is the Moktaar. The simian race and the Wobanki have been at war for generations, with the last three wars during this latest iteration of the Republic (before the Rise of Goth Sullus). Their hatred of each other is so great, they will often attack each other for no reason, even if ordered not to.
More about the Wobanki will drop in future articles, but can be found in the pages of Galactic Outlaws, Sword of the Legion, Turning Point, Through the Nether.
